About

“Harei ani k’ben shivim shana…” Behold, I am like a 70 year old, uttered by the young Rabbi Elazar Ben Azarya, newly appointed at age 18 to the position of Nasi (leader of his people). Miraculously, his appearance changed so that he looked older, and therefore more respectable. “Some people live more in 20 years than others do in 80. It’s not the time that matters, it’s the person.” This blog is a running compilation of the thoughts of a person who was aged prematurely by unfortunate experience.

What a moving blog this is. Sensitively written. So much pain. I’m so sorry. Your unesaneh toke post seems like it was written by Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev. Astounding. Hatzlacha to you.

Me too. I was a happy and content baal teshuva until the horrible schism between aguda and degel occurred. That shattered my trust in Orthodox Judaism and made me see that the people are egotistical and endlessly argumentative. Eventually I converted to Christianity:
